Between 2016 and 2019,12 French and Spanish partners (research, development, agricultural cooperation, farmers' associations) will work together to improve the economic profitability and sustainability of sheep farms throughout the Pyrenees. This project, approved under the Interreg POCTEFA programme, is supported by the ERDF.
It is made up of 3 main axes: improving the maternal capacity of sheep with the help of production control, managing and understanding the major genes of hyperproliferation using genomics, working with farmers and other actors in the Pyrenean territory for the livestock of tomorrow.
The project has been co-financed at 65% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Spain-France-Andorra Programme (POCTEFA 2014-2020). The objective of POCTEFA is to strengthen the economic and social integration of the Spain-France-Andorra border area. Its assistance focuses on the development of cross-border economic, social and environmental activities through joint strategies for sustainable territorial development.
